In the Neighbourhood

Spa near Burjuman and Al Karama, inside Grand Excelsior Hotel

Our Bur Dubai branch is on the HC floor of the Grand Excelsior Hotel on Kuwait Street, in Mankhool, the district that borders both Al Karama and the Burjuman area. It carries the longest list of the three addresses: the five massages at the same prices as everywhere else, plus a Hot Stone Massage, and, in its own heated hammam room, the Moroccan Bath and the Royal Hammam package.

That hammam room is the reason to travel here rather than to the nearest place selling a Moroccan bath. Plenty of Dubai spas sell one and then perform it on a massage table because they have no heated wet room. In a real hammam the room is hot and humid before you go in, the black soap is left on warm skin, and the kessa glove lifts a layer a shower cannot reach.

The branch answers its own WhatsApp line, so a message here reaches the Bur Dubai reception rather than a central desk that then has to check.

Getting Here

How to find us

Enter the Grand Excelsior Hotel from Kuwait Street in Mankhool and take the lift to the HC floor. The map opens the exact pin in Google Maps. Good to Know

Bur Dubai questions

Where exactly is Lavana Spa Bur Dubai?+

On the HC floor of the Grand Excelsior Hotel, Kuwait Street, in Mankhool. Enter through the hotel lobby from Kuwait Street and take the lift up; the spa is signposted from the landing. The pin on our Google listing points at the hotel itself, so navigation brings you to the correct entrance rather than to a loading bay round the back. Coming from the Burjuman area, the hotel sits on the Kuwait Street frontage rather than tucked down a side road. Reception here has its own direct number and its own WhatsApp line, so a message reaches the people in this building rather than a central desk elsewhere. The branch opens at 10:00 and takes guests until midnight, seven days a week including public holidays, and it answers Telegram as well if that suits you better. Access is through the hotel lobby rather than a separate spa door on the street.

Does the Bur Dubai branch have a real hammam?+

Yes, a heated hammam room, which is what makes the Moroccan Bath here a bath rather than a scrub on a treatment bed. The room is hot and humid before you go in, so the skin softens first; black soap is then left on to loosen the outer layer, and only afterwards does the kessa glove go to work. That order is why the glove takes off more while pressing less. Not every Dubai hotel spa selling a Moroccan bath has a room like this, and our own Al Barsha branch does not either, which is why the bath and the Royal Hammam package run only at Bur Dubai and DIFC. The bath costs 400 AED for sixty minutes, or 300 AED when the appointment starts before 15:00, with 5% VAT added at reception. If you want the scrub and a massage in one visit, the two hour Royal Hammam package is the cheaper route.

What can I book here that Al Barsha does not offer?+

Three things, all of which come down to the hammam room. The Moroccan Bath at 400 AED for sixty minutes, or 300 before 15:00. The Royal Hammam package, a two hour appointment pairing the full hammam scrub with a full body massage, at 700 AED or 600 before 15:00. And the Hot Stone Massage at 600 AED for sixty minutes and 800 for ninety, which Al Barsha does not carry either. The five massages on the core menu are available at all three branches at identical prices, so those are not a reason to pick one address over another. If you want a scrub, or the scrub and a massage in a single visit, Bur Dubai and DIFC are the two branches that can run it. Everything here carries the Early Bird rate where the treatment has one, meaning a start time between 10:00 and 15:00 rather than a code or a voucher.

How late is the Bur Dubai branch open?+

From 10:00 until midnight, seven days a week including public holidays. The appointment has to finish by closing rather than begin at it, so a sixty minute massage needs to start by 23:00 and the two hour Royal Hammam package by 21:30. Our Al Barsha branch runs an hour later and closes at 1 am, which is worth knowing if you are deciding late in the evening and only want a massage. Evenings are the busiest stretch here, so message the branch on its own WhatsApp line before travelling rather than arriving and hoping; reception will tell you what is genuinely free. Hours do not change at weekends, but they can shift during Ramadan, so a short message before travelling is sensible then. The Four Hands Massage and the Royal Hammam package both need more than one resource free at once, so those two are worth arranging a day ahead rather than the same evening.

Guest Reviews

What guests say about Bur Dubai

I went in for a Swedish massage, and it was exactly what I needed, deeply relaxing and refreshing. The whole place has such a calm vibe. Nancy at the front desk was excellent; she was very kind and suggested the right options based on what I was looking for. I walked out feeling relaxed and happy.

Absolutely loved the Moroccan bath experience! The treatment was very relaxing and left my skin feeling soft, refreshed, and deeply cleansed. The staff were professional and made sure I was comfortable throughout. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and pamper themselves!
