European & Russian Massage · Al Barsha · Bur Dubai · DIFC
Firm, slow and deliberately narrow. The therapist works through the outer layer to reach the muscle underneath, usually across the back, shoulders and neck, and moves at a fraction of the speed of an oil massage. This is the treatment to book when one area has been tight for weeks, not when you want an hour of calm.
It starts like any oil massage and then slows down. The slowing is the treatment.
The first minutes warm the area with broader strokes, because cold muscle resists and pressing into it achieves nothing but discomfort. Once the tissue gives, the therapist narrows the contact, using forearm and thumb rather than the whole hand, and works along the fibre instead of across the surface.
Pressure is a conversation, not a setting. Firm should read as intense but breathable. If you are holding your breath or bracing, it has gone past useful, and saying so immediately is far more helpful than mentioning it at reception afterwards. Our therapists are European and Russian and work in English.
Sixty minutes at 600 AED covers the back, shoulders and neck properly. Full body plus focused work on problem areas needs the 120 minute session at 1,000 AED, because genuinely deep work on one region takes most of an hour on its own.
Desk and driving weeks
Upper back, shoulders and neck are the three areas guests name most often, and they are the three this treatment is built around.
Training that has caught up
Regular gym and running loads leave tissue that a light massage slides over. Firm slow work reaches it.
Anyone who found the Swedish too gentle
If a medium pressure massage has stopped registering, this is the step up rather than asking for the same treatment harder.

Good to Know
It should be intense, not painful. The working definition our therapists use is simple: if you are breathing normally and can still hold a conversation, the pressure is productive, and if you are bracing or holding your breath, it has gone too far. Deep work on a tight area often sits right on the edge of comfortable, and that edge is where it does its job. What it should never be is something you endure in silence for an hour. Say the moment it tips over, because our therapists adjust in seconds and cannot read it from your back. Pain that lingers during the session rather than releasing under the hand is a sign to ease off, not to push through. Tell reception when you book if you bruise easily or are on blood thinners, and the therapist plans the pressure before you are on the table rather than discovering it halfway through.
Speed, pressure and coverage. A Swedish massage runs long draining strokes at steady medium pressure across the whole body, and you leave feeling lighter. Deep muscle work is slow, narrow and firm, using forearm and thumb to reach the layer under the surface, and it concentrates on the areas that need it rather than covering everything evenly. You may be mildly sore the following day after deep work, which is normal and not a sign anything went wrong. Swedish starts at 500 AED for sixty minutes and this at 600 AED, the same at Al Barsha and Bur Dubai. If you are unsure which you want, the Swedish is the safer first booking. The two overlap most at 120 minutes, where the deep session has room to cover the whole body as well as the areas that actually need work.
Often mildly, for a day or so, in the way muscle feels after unfamiliar exercise. That is the normal response to deep work and it settles on its own. What is not normal is sharp pain, bruising or soreness that is still there after several days, and none of those should follow a session where the pressure was set correctly. Drink water afterwards, keep moving gently rather than sitting still for the rest of the evening, and give yourself a day before heavy training. If you have an event the next morning where you need to feel your best, book the European Aromatherapy Massage instead and save the deep work for a quieter week. Mention at your next visit how the previous session settled, and the pressure gets calibrated to you rather than to an average guest of your build.
Sixty minutes at 600 AED is enough for the back, shoulders and neck done properly, and that combination is what most guests come in for. It is not enough for the whole body plus focused work, because genuinely deep work on one region takes most of an hour by itself. If you want both, book 120 minutes at 1,000 AED, which is also the best value per minute of the three lengths. Ninety minutes at 800 AED sits in between and suits back, shoulders, neck and one more area such as legs. Tell reception what is tight when you message the branch, and the therapist plans the time before you arrive rather than during. All three lengths cost the same at Al Barsha and Bur Dubai, and every figure there is subject to the 5% VAT reception adds at the till. DIFC runs the same treatment as the Deep Tissue Massage, from 630 AED for an hour with VAT already inside the number.
Yes. Al Barsha takes guests until 1 AM and Bur Dubai until midnight, seven days a week, and late bookings for this treatment are common after long working days. One practical note: deep work leaves most people drowsy rather than energised, so a late session tends to suit an evening you can end quietly rather than one with plans after. Each branch answers its own WhatsApp line, so message the address you plan to visit and reception will tell you what is free that night. Walk ins are welcome when a therapist happens to be available, though evenings are exactly when all three branches are at their busiest. Daytime slots are easier to secure at every branch, and nothing about the deep work changes with the hour, so book early if your schedule allows it.
